A Distillery Built on Tradition
For decades, this site has been home to the craft of distillation. Back then, the traditional Bulgarian “gyolpani” were used. Some of these original copper stills are still preserved today in our distillery — living symbols of centuries-old dedication.
Generations of specialists worked with care, precision, and respect for the plant, preserving the techniques that define the authentic character of Bulgarian rose oil. Copper stills, experienced hands, and locally harvested roses were at the heart of every production season.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Progress
During the socialist period, the factory became part of the state enterprise “Bulgarian Rose – Kazanlak.” In 1964, the first large copper stills were built, hand-crafted from pure copper — a material that gives the oil its signature depth and aroma.
After the restitution period, the distillery returned to private ownership, and in 2022, Cheermore Oils acquired it — along with the assets of the bankrupt company called Intermed 1 and a significant portion of the surrounding rose plantations.

Tradition Preserved, Technology Introduced
Since then, significant investments were made to modernise the facilities and implement a fully automated system that ensures precision at every step of production. The heritage copper stills were retained for their unique influence on rose oil aroma and quality, while stainless-steel installations support increased capacity and consistency.

- Business Development Director at a consulting firm in Shanghai
- Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria on Foreign Investments and International Trade
- Deputy Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency
- Head of Asset Quality Review (AQR) teams for two Bulgarian banks
- Head of the Trade and Economic Office at the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Shanghai
